Be still our beating hearts. The beautiful blue sports car you see above is the 2016 Alfa Romeo Disco Volante. It is the last work of the Italian design house Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera, which celebrates its 90th anniversary. As you can see, it is a work of art, but what you cannot see is that, as the hard top version that preceded it, this car is actually based on the bones of an Alfa Romeo 8C competition. This means that is intended to be a rare beast, since only 500 coupes and 500 8C Spiders were never built.
Exterior and Interior
Intelligent Design 2016 Alfa Romeo Disco Volante appears as the coupe version we saw in 2013. Inspiration comes in the famous 1952 Alfa Romeo C52, plus it keeps the “flying saucer” seems to live. It is used exactly the same chassis as the 8C, but instead of embracing its fabric roof, roof panels comes with two carbon fiber prepared jointly with the Alfa engineers themselves.
It weighs only 3.5 kg, given in the lower center of gravity. Carbon roof 2016 Alfa Romeo Disco Volante in the cargo area and can be removed by hand, with a set of custom bags. Each car produced by touring usually has a color that is different. And this is called cerulean blue, which is Italian for Blue Sky.
We do not have details on what fuels 2016 Alfa Romeo Disco Volante, but we thought that uses the same 4.7-liter V8 and a semi-automatic six-speed transmission that feeds all the original 8C models. This would mean 444 horsepower and 350 foot-pounds of torque, is 0-60 in less than 4 seconds and a top speed of 180 miles per hour. However, actual performance seems superfluous in particular the 2016 Alfa Romeo Disco Volante true mission, which is to look pretty.
